Blue River Valley traveled to Madison, In to face unfamiliar foes from Madison, Scottsburg, and Switzerland County. The BRV wrestlers did not let the long drive and unfamiliar opponents effect them as they showed outstanding growth and wrestled some of their best matches of the season to date. Kyle Rice(145) went 3-0 on the day to lead the Vikings. Rice had 1 pin on the day coming against Scottsburg and leads the team in wins(11) and pins(3) on the season. Joshua Molina(160) also had a great day going 2-1 with wins against Madison and Scottsburg. Molina showed a lot of heart in his 3rd match of the day and competed well but ultimately fell in the 3rd period. Will Love(152) competed hard and showed a lot of growth in all three of his matches on the day. Love, a new comer to the sport, got his first pin of the season against Scottsburg and went 1-2 on the day. Sophi Alexander(126) went 1-2 on the day picking up a victory against Scottsburg. Alexander wrestled well and showed a lot of heart,making her one of the toughest match ups of the day. Jayden Delk(132) wrestled up at 138 for 2 matches and fought hard against opponents in the upper weight class. Delk went 0-3 on the day but the 1st year wrestler wrestled his best match of the year against Switzerland County. Blue River Valley will be competing again on January 12th at 9am at Tri Jr/Sr High School. Come on out and show your support!
